Za-ba-lang...in a good way

Za-ba-lang (in a mess), this is the state of my mind now. Not in the negative sense, just messy. Blogging these thoughts is my attempt at organizing them.

This is the time of the year when one takes stock of what has happened and new resolutions are made. Well, I did the same on 31 Dec 2007 in church. I made a covenant with God to complete certain tasks and prayed that He will guide me through them. That was the first time I have physically penned down my covenant with God, I think it was made more tangible that way. I was supposed to get that written copy of my "letter to God" back but alas, Chris & I were so busy irritating each other that we did not write our addresses on the envelopes before we dropped them into the "mailbox". Ah well, they are etched in my heart anyway.

Now, as I count my blessings and the number of pleasant surprises that God has so graciously given to me, I realise they are more than a handful! He has given me new meaning & motivation for my work (after a long period of "dryness"), provided opportunities to pursue my interest in designing, brought Chris to church, renewed my vision for RFKC and most of all, gave me a new "pumping" heart that is capable of loving.

2007 was not a bed of roses but looking back, I understood what it means by "when you do not see the hand of God, learn to trust His heart." I truely believe that He orchestrated everything that has happened in my life (perceived as pleasant or unpleasant) because He loves me and has a plan for me, just as it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 (New Living Translation)
"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Because He Lives
God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

And then one day I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone!
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives!
